Oatmeal Khichidi tasted almost exactly like other
khichidi, it is a very healthy and balanced and perfect for breakfast.
Ingredients:

1 cup Oats
•
1/4 cup yellow split Moong
dal
•
1 tsp Mustard seeds
•
2tbsp chopped Onion
•
2tbs chopped Carrots
•
2tbsp chopped Beans
•
1 tsp chopped green Chili
•
1/2 tsp Garlic chopped
•
1/2 tsp Ginger chopped
•
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
•
1/2 tsp Chili powder
•
1/2tsp Cumin powder
•
1/2 tsp Coriander powder
•
2 tsp Oil
•
Salt to taste
Method:
•
Wash the moong dal and drain
all the water.
•
Heat the oil in a pressure cooker, add
mustard seeds.
•
When they start spluttering add the
green Chili, Garlic, Ginger, Onions, Turmeric powder, Chili powder, Cumin and Coriander
powder and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds.
•
Add carrots and beans , sauté for
about 1min.
•
Now add the oats and moong dal and
salt, sauté on a medium flame for 2 to 3 min, and stir continuously.
•
Add about 3cups of water, mix well and
pressure cook for 2 whistles.
•
Allow the steam to come
out before opening the lid.
•
Serve immediately.
