Banana Paratha

Banana Paratha is an easy recipe. Even fussy kids can enjoy it.


Ingredients:
          1 ½ cups Wheat flour
          1tbsp oil for dough
          2 ripe Bananas (well mashed or puree)
          2 tbsp Milk
          ¼ tsp salt
          Oil or ghee for frying

Method:
           In a large mixing bowl, add wheat flour, salt, and oil. Combine them well. After combining you will get crumble pieces.
          Now knead them to soft dough by adding banana puree. Cover the dough and keep it aside for15 min or half an hour.
          After half hour, make small balls from the dough. Dust each ball in the flour and roll out to form a round shape.
          Now place the rolled round paratha on the pan. Cook for about half a minute. You will see small bubbles appear, then using a spatula, flip the paratha to cook the other side then brush the top with oil .after 15 to 20 sec flip it again and brush with oil. Cook the both side for about 2to 3 min. Repeat the cooking for the remaining paratha.
          Banana chapathi is ready.

Cook Tip:  for this recipe you will need overripe banana. 

Banana Cake

Banana cake is nothing but a cake .we can have it for breakfast or snack.

Ingredients:
          2 banana Puree

          1 cup White Sugar

          1 cup Butter (softened
at room temperature)
          2 Eggs

          1 cups All-purpose flour, (Maida)
          ½ teaspoons Baking Soda

          1tsp Baking powder

          1 tsp vanilla extract
          ½ teaspoon Salt

          3 teaspoons Milk


  Method:
          In a mixing bowl beat the eggs; beat till it becomes double.
          Now in this beaten eggs, mix banana puree, white sugar, and butter and beat well for about 4to 5 min.
          In another bowl, shift the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt all together.
          Now add the above flour mixture to the egg and banana puree mixture. Add vanilla extract and mix well.
          Preheat your oven at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
          Grease your baking pan with butter or oil and dust Maida all over the pan.
           Pour cake batter into greased baking pan.
          Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 40 to 45 minutes, or until cake is done.  Let it to cool.
          Serve with Tea/Coffee.

Cook Tip:  Check the cake with a toothpick or a fork ,if it comes cleans ,means cake is done.

Tur Dal Pakora

Tur Dal Pakora is very delicious, crispy and crunchy snack. It can be served with, sweet and sour dips/chutneys.


Ingredients:
          ½ Cup Tur Dal
          ½ tsp Ginger Paste (optional)
          1 tsp Cumin Seeds
          3 chopped Green Chilies
          ¼ tsp Asafoetida /Hing
          1tbsp corn Flour
          1 Medium Onion chopped
          ½ tsp Ajwain
          1 tsp Red Chili Powder
          ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
          1 tbsp Lemon Juice (optional)
          4 tbsp chopped Coriander Leaves
          Water As needed 
          Salt to taste 
          Oil For deep frying 

Method:
          Wash and soak the Tur dal in water for 1 hour or more, drain water, rinse dal 1-2 times.
          Grind the dal with green chilies, cumin seeds, hing into smooth paste. Add 1-2 tbsp of water only if required.
          In a large bowl add dal paste, and add chopped onion, coriander leaves, ajwain, chili powder, turmeric powder, lemon juice, salt and, corn flour. Mix well and make a batter.
          Heat oil for frying in a kadai , once oil becomes hot drop spoonful of batter in hot oil 5-6 in single batch or more if you are using large kadai, fry until it becomes golden brown from all sides, drain in kitchen tissue and repeat same for rest of batter .
          Serve hot with cup of tea or enjoy as   snack
