Chicken Pulao

Chicken Pulao is so easy to make. Pulao is a rice-based dish, which often also includes ingredients like vegetables or meat. 


Makes/Serves: 3 to 4 servings

Ingredients:
          ½ kg Chicken, washed and drained 
          2 cups long grained Rice (basmati rice) washed and strained
          1cup finely sliced Onions (or paste)
          ½ tsp Ginger- Garlic paste
          1 finely chopped Tomato (optional)
          ½ tsp Turmeric powder
          1tsp Coriander powder
          1tsp Cumin powder
          ½ tsp Funnel powder
          1 Cinnamon stick
          2 to3 Cloves
          2 Cardamoms
          1 Star Anise (optional)
          2 Bay leaves
          3tbsp Oil (or ghee)
          2 ½ cups hot Water
          Salt to taste


Method:
          Heat 2tbsp Oil in a pan on medium heat; add all the garam masala ingredients such as Bay leaves, Cloves, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Star Anise and Sauté for few seconds.
           Add sliced Onions and sauté for 3 to 5 min. 
          Add chopped Tomato and cook for another 5 min. 
           Now Add the Chicken and all the spices and salt, Cook on medium heat for about 5min. after 5 min turn off the flame. And keep a side.
          Now heat 1tbsp of Oil in a Pressure Cooker on medium heat, when oil get hot add Rice and salt. Sauté the Rice about 5min or Rice become little bit crispy.
          Now add Chicken and its gravy to the Rice and mix well. Add hot water, closed the lid let it for two whistle. And turn off the flame and leave it to Pressure out by itself.
           Remove lid, serve hot with Raita or any curry of your choice.
