Jalebi is a sweet that is made
throughout India, Pakistan, and the Middle East. This is the instant version
quick to make and eat.
Ingredients:
For batter
•
1cupMaida
•
2tbs Corn flour
•
3tsp Curd
•
1/2tsp Vinegar
•
1/2 Eno salt
•
1/2 cup Water
•
A pinch red food color
•
1tsp ghee
For sugar syrup
•
1 cup Sugar
•
1/2cup Water
•
1tsp Lemon juice
•
Oil/ ghee for frying
Method:
•
To begin with, make sugar syrup. Take sugar and water in a sauce pan, boil them till the sugar dissolves and
forms consistency such that when you rub some syrup with your thumb and
index finger and stretch it a single thread forms. At this point add lemon juice mix and put off the flame.

Now in a bowl add all the ingredients
and add water little by little and make a lumps free batter which is not too
thick nor thin.

In the end add eno fruit salt and
vinegar.
•
Give it a quick mix and transfer
the batter to a ketchup bottle or a zip lock bag.
•
Heat ghee in a kadai, once the oil
is hot turn the ketchup bottle upside down and make quick round swirls in the
oil.
•
In a very low flame fry the jalebis
flipping both the sides till crispy.
•
Once fried transfer the Jalebis to
the prepared sugar syrup and soak them just for1 min and them remove them
quickly in a plate.
•
Repeat the same for the rest of the
jalebi batter.
•
Serve it as a dessert.
