Dahi Vadais a popular snack Dahi Vada
recipe has many variations. This Dahi Vada is my variation. You can make it at
home with simple easy steps. No extra ordinary ingredients required. You
can enjoy this recipe in Ramadan for Iftar as well as on Eid and other
occasions.
Makes/Serves: 4 to 5 Servings
Ingredients:
•
6 Bread slices
•
1 small boiled, mashed Potato
•
1/4 tsp Baking powder
•
½ tsp Salt
•
1/2 tsp Black Pepper
•
1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
•
Oil for deep frying
•
1 cup Yogurt
•
1 tsp. Sugar
•
1tsp Chaat masala
•
1tsp Cumin powder
•
1tso Chili powder
•
2tsp sweet chutney
•
2 tsp chopped Coriander leaves (or
chopped Mint leaves)
Method:
•
Soak the Bread slices in water and
squeeze.
•
Then mix soaked bread slices and
mash Potato, salt, baking powder, Black Pepper, Cumin seeds. Mix well and make
small sized ball.

Then heat a frying pan add oil and
deep-fry them till light brown.
•
Now Bara is ready.
•
Side by side take a bowl with
cold water and mix a pinch of Salt.
•
Now drop the Bara to cold water,
when it gets a little soft, squeeze out the water between palms and take out
them in a serving dish.

Now in bowl beat Yogurt and Sugar
together with adding little water
•
And pour yogurt to each over the Vada, pour sweet chutney, sprinkle them with Cumin powder, Chaat
masala, Chili powder, and Coriander leaves

Serve it like a Chaat/Snack.

Cook Tip: After frying the vada you can leave it a side, soak in
water when you want to want to serve it. Instead of mashed potato you can use
paneer.
