Momo

Momo is one of Nepal’s most popular dishes, which can be serve as snack or as mains dish. It’s a dumpling filled with meat or vegetables as well. Momos is the one of popular street food in north of India. It can be served with soya sauce and chili sauce.

Makes/Serves:  15 to 20 pieces



Ingredients:
For Dough:
2 cups Maida
1/2 tsp Salt 
1/2 tsp Oil
For filling: 


1 cup grated Carrots 

1 cup grated Cabbage 

1/2 cup chopped Onion 

1 tsp chopped Garlic

1/4 tsp vinegar (optional)

1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp oil 

Salt to taste.

Method:
For dough
Mix the Maida, Salt and Oil and knead to a stiff dough with water. 
For filling
In a pan Heat oil and add Garlic and sauté for couple of sec on medium heat.
Now add Onion sauté for a min.
Add the Carrot and Cabbage. And cook on high heat till glossy. 
Add vinegar and salt and black pepper. (Make it dry)
 Divide the dough into small small portion.Roll the each portion of dough thin (translucent) . (roll it like puri)
Take a round puri wet edges and place some filling in the center. 
Bring edges together to cover the filling. Twist to seal.
And fill the rest in the same way. 
Steam for about 10 to 12 min. (grease the steamer try with little oil so that mom will not stick on it)
Serve with soya sauce and chili sauce.

Cook Tip: Do not over steam it.
